Pastor Tyrone D. Scafe, Sr.

Superintendent Tyrone D. Scafe, Sr., is a sagacious leader who has extensive experience in the Military and Religious arena. He is an accomplished speaker, mentor, trainer, musician and church administrator with a proven record of success and influence. As a servant leader, Supt. Scafe has worked diligently in a variety of positions within the local, Jurisdiction, and National Church. Currently, serving as the Senior Pastor of the Temple Of Praise Church Of God In Christ in Chesapeake, Virginia. He also serves as an appointed District Superintendent and Secretary to the Board of Superintendents in the Virginia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.  

 

He has been appointed as a National Adjutant Overseer, Episcopal Adjutant and Men’s President. He currently serves the Church Of God In Christ, Inc. as an Executive Board Member of the General Assembly (Constitution Committee Chairman), the Ecclesiastical Commissioner's Office as a platform lead under the Office of the Presiding Bishop, Regional Servant Leader (comprising 19 Jurisdictions), Men Perfecting Men Jurisdictional President's Council Secretary, former National Adjutancy Southeast Region Coordinator, and the Urban Initiatives Crime Prevention Team Administrator. 

 

Not only has Supt. Scafe had a successful religious career, but he served this nation as a Senior Enlisted Advisor in the U. S. Navy where he has traveled to over 80 countries in 7 continents. In 2009, he was selected as the U. S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Officer Recruiter of the Year.  However, in 2013, Supt. Scafe decided it was time to go ashore and spend time with his family, retiring with an Honorable Discharge and numerous Navy & Marine Corps. Commendation & Achievement Medals.

 

His academic accomplishments parallel his Religious and Military Service. Supt. Scafe has attended American Intercontinental University, University of Maryland, Next Dimension University, and a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.

As a dedicated servant of God through the Church Of God In Christ, Supt. Scafe offers his continued service as Missions Director for the country of New Zealand. In this role, he is responsible for building and establishing religious Mission efforts. Supt. Scafe seeks to diligently support the efforts of the National Church by championing its message of love, hope, and deliverance through the gospel.

Supt. Scafe is married to the love of his life, the former Stacy Melanie Murray of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Together they are proud parents and their family can be easily found working together in the upbuilding of God’s Kingdom!
